We understand that choosing a school for your son or daughter is a big decision, not to be taken lightly. We therefore recommend that you come and have a look around the School at a time that is convenient for you, we can even do a Saturday morning if that is more convenient for you.
Coming in to see us is the best insight into life here and it will allow you to see all that Pitsford School has to offer. Simply phone the School Office on 01604 880306 and we will be happy to arrange this for you.
In addition to private tours, you can have a look around the school via our Virtual Open Day
Registration costs £75 per family and forms can be requested from the Registrar via registrar@pitsfordschool.com
We look forward to seeing you soon!
Juniors
Children can join us at any stage in the Junior school, if space in their year group allows.
Those joining our reception class will be invited into school during the Spring Term before they start. This normally takes the form of a familiarisation afternoon and sometimes a picnic in the Summer term! This allows us all to get to know each other and make that first day at school in September a little less daunting.
Any children who join us in Year 1 or 2 will normally come and spend a day with us. During this time the teachers will assess them informally and within the class setting.
Children who are joining us in Year 3-6 will again spend a day in school with us. During this time we will ask them to complete a more formal literacy and numeracy assessment.
Following a successful visit, and a satisfactory report from their previous school, we will then make a formal offer of a place. To secure this place, a deposit of £600 is paid, which will be reimbursed when the pupil leaves.
Seniors
Children are welcome to join the school throughout the seniors, as long as there is space in their year group. Where year groups are full we operate a waiting list.
All children entering the senior school will need to complete an assessment and the offer of a place is subject to the prospective pupil’s performance in the assessment and a satisfactory report from their previous school. Most Year 7 entrants will attend a specific day in November where they can experience the school before going on to complete the assessment, but individual arrangements can be made throughout the year for any age.
Once an offer of a place is accepted, parents pay an Acceptance Deposit of £600 (reimbursed when the pupil leaves the School). This is however forfeited if the place is not taken up.
Sixth Form
New and existing pupils join us at Sixth Form to study A levels.
Our normal minimum requirements for entry into the Sixth Form will be predicted grades of at least six GCSE grades 9-6. In addition, a grade 7 will normally be expected in each GCSE subject to be continued at A Level.
Any new students who wish to join the Sixth Form will also need to provide a satisfactory report from the Head of their previous school(s). After registering, candidates will be invited in for an interview with the Headmaster. The offer of a place is subject to the prospective pupil’s successful interview and achievement of the required GCSE grades.
Upon acceptance of the offer of a place, parents are asked to pay a £600 Acceptance Deposit. This deposit is reimbursed to parents when the pupil leaves the School but is forfeited should the place not be taken up.
