Pippa Smith is both the Head of Art and Head of Section, KS4 at Pitsford School. She graduated with an Honours inclusive degree in Fine Art from the University of Kwazulu Natal, South Africa. After a stint in industry, she completed her PGCE at the University of South Africa in 2005 and has been teaching ever since. After moving to England, she continued with her education completing both British QTS at the University of Durham and her Masters level in Special Educational Needs at the University of Bedford, qualifying her as a SENDco. Mrs Smith has worked in both the maintained and private school systems with experience as a senior leader in pastoral care.
Mrs Smith is a working artist and works both commercially and for exhibition. In 2022 she was appointed as Partner Artist for the London Chamber Orchestra for a duration of four years and as a result has recently had work featured in the BBC Proms guide and at St. James’ Palace. When she isn’t making art, she enjoys swimming, particularly in open water, reading and watching films with her family and cats.
