Pitsford School junior pupils in Hesketh House decided to raise money for the animal charity, Guide Dogs for the Blind by organising a raffle and mufti day.

Representatives of Kettering Guide Dogs for the Blind kindly attended the assembly with their guide dogs on Friday 05 June.  It costs £25,000 to train a guide dog puppy and, on average, a guide dog will be able to work for six or seven years.  Guide dogs and potential owners are carefully matched in terms of an individual's lifestyle, dog size, breed and personality.

Having raised over £300 from the raffle and mufti day, Pitsford School is now able to sponsor its own guide dog.  Thanks to everyone who supported this initiative and we will keep you updated on the puppy's name and progress.
