This was the question posed by teacher, Mr Tickle, during one Senior Assembly. Many pupils confessed that they had used excuses.
Mr Tickle went on to say that he felt not having access to electric light would be a valid excuse and that many children in less developed countries are in this situation.
A total of £171.55 was raised by Mufti Day and this was sent to the International Refugee Trust for a project in Africa run by Sister Lilian to provide solar lighting for children to do their homework.
Supporting education in less developed countries is an important way of helping people lift themselves out of poverty.
